Skilled Nominated Visa

The Skilled Nominated Subclass 190 visa is a permanent General Skilled Migration visa which requires nomination by a State or Territory Government. The state territories in Australia are as follows.

1. Canberra
2. New South Wales
3. Northern Territory
4. Queensland
5. South Australia
6. Tasmania
7. Victoria
8. Western Australia

This Australian state sponsored visa is for skilled workers who are nominated by a state or territory. A visa holder can live and work permanently anywhere in Australia. Certain family members can be included in the application.

You must be invited to apply for the visa.
To meet the requirements, your occupation needs to fall on one of the Australian skilled occupation lists, you have to score a minimum of 60 points on the Australian points system and your English language skills should be of a proficient level. Irish, UK, US and Canadian passport holders will not be required to pass an English test if the other visa requirements are met. Your occupation must be on the relevant list of eligible skilled occupations.

You have achieved a score of at least 6 in each of the four test components (speaking, reading, listening and writing) in an International English Language Testing System (IELTS) test that has been undertaken in the three years immediately prior to lodging the visa application.
Alternative English language tests will be accepted. Applicants should obtain the IELTS equivalent in any of the approved English language test provider, OET, TOEFL iBT, PTE Academic and Cambridge English: Advanced (CAE).
Age under 45 if and when you are invited to apply for the visa.

There are some obligations that states or territories will require you to meet. You can stay in that state or territory that nominated you for at least two years.
A successful applicant,
a. can stay in Australia indefinitely
b. work and study in Australia
c. Can use in Medicare, Australia's scheme for health-related care and expenses
d. sponsor eligible relatives for permanent residence
e. Multiple entry to Australia for five years
f. apply for Australian citizenship after 4 years
The Distinguished Talent visa (subclass 858) lets you live permanently in Australia if you have an internationally recognised record of exceptional and outstanding achievement in:

a. a profession
b. a sport
c. the arts
d. academia and research.

To be eligible you must have an internationally recognised record of exceptional and outstanding achievement
You could get this visa if you:
1. have an internationally recognised record of exceptional and outstanding achievement in a profession, a sport, the arts, or academia and research are still prominent in the area
2. would be an asset to the Australian community
3. have no difficulty getting employment, or in becoming established independently in your field in Australia
4. are nominated by an eligible person or organisation
5. meet health and character requirements.

There is no specific constraint on the age of the applicant.

You should have at least functional English.
An International English Language Testing System (IELTS) test result of an average band score of at least 4.5 based on the four test components of speaking, reading, listening and writing.
Alternative English language tests will be accepted. Applicants should obtain the IELTS equivalent in any of the approved English language test provider, OET, TOEFL iBT, PTE Academic and Cambridge English: Advanced (CAE).

The Applicants and dependants must have functional English, who cannot provide evidence to pay a second instalment visa application charge that entitles the applicant to attend language tuition in Australia.

b. work and study in Australia
c. Can use in Medicare, Australia's scheme for health-related care and expenses
d. sponsor eligible relatives for permanent residence
e. Multiple entry to Australia for five years
f. apply for Australian citizenship after 4 years

Your dependent family members can be included under your distinguished talent visa and they can also get permanent residency in Australia.
