The Distinguished Talent visa (subclass 858) lets you live permanently in Australia if you have an internationally recognised record of exceptional and outstanding achievement in:
a. a profession
b. a sport
c. the arts
d. academia and research.
To be eligible you must have an internationally recognised record of exceptional and outstanding achievement
You could get this visa if you:
1. have an internationally recognised record of exceptional and outstanding achievement in a profession, a sport, the arts, or academia and research are still prominent in the area
2. would be an asset to the Australian community
3. have no difficulty getting employment, or in becoming established independently in your field in Australia
4. are nominated by an eligible person or organisation
5. meet health and character requirements.
There is no specific constraint on the age of the applicant.
You should have at least functional English.
An International English Language Testing System (IELTS) test result of an average band score of at least 4.5 based on the four test components of speaking, reading, listening and writing.
Alternative English language tests will be accepted. Applicants should obtain the IELTS equivalent in any of the approved English language test provider, OET, TOEFL iBT, PTE Academic and Cambridge English: Advanced (CAE).
The Applicants and dependants must have functional English, who cannot provide evidence to pay a second instalment visa application charge that entitles the applicant to attend language tuition in Australia.
A successful applicant,
a. can stay in Australia indefinitely
b. work and study in Australia
c. Can use in Medicare, Australia's scheme for health-related care and expenses
d. sponsor eligible relatives for permanent residence
e. Multiple entry to Australia for five years
f. apply for Australian citizenship after 4 years
Your dependent family members can be included under your distinguished talent visa and they can also get permanent residency in Australia.
