The Business Talent visa

This visa allows you to establish a new or develop an existing business in Australia.

You have a choice of two streams:
Venture Capital Entrepreneurs: people who have obtained at least AUD$1 million in agreed funding from an Australian venture capital firm, which is also an AVCAL member, to develop an innovation to a commercial stage. Significant Business History: high level business owners who want to undertake significant business activity providing either, employment, exports or high level investment.

For at least 2 of the last 4 fiscal years you (and your spouse) had:
a. net assets in business of at least AUD 400,000; or
b. 10% ownership of the business if it is a publicly listed company.
c. The business had an annual turnover of at least AUD 3 million for 2 of the last 4 fiscal years
d. You had total assets of at least AUD1.5 million that can be legally transferred to Australia within two years of the visa being granted
e. You (or your spouse) have never been involved in unacceptable business or investment activities and you have a commitment to develop and maintain an ownership interest in a business in Australia and you must maintain direct and continuous involvement in the management of that business. The subclass 132 visa is valid for five years with future options for additional permanent residency visas or citizenship.

The applicants for subclass 132 Business talent visa are required to be nominated by an Australian State or Territory. The other main requirements are:
a. There is an age limit of 55 years unless exemption is granted under the exceptional circumstances
b. The applicant is required to show net assets in business of minimum AUD 400,000
c. The turnover of the business should be at least AUD 3 million for 2 of the last 4 fiscal years
d. Nomination by an Australian State or Territory government to migrate to Australia.
e. Genuine and realistic commitment to establish a new business or purchase an existing business

There is no points test for the subclass 132 visa.

The Business Talent visa is for business people who are nominated by an Australian state or territory government agency.
To be able to get this visa you need to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) through Skill Select and then be invited to apply.

You might be able to get this visa if:
a. you are nominated by a state or territory government
b. You must be under the age of 55
c. You must undertake business activity that will provide an exceptional economic benefit
d. are invited to apply
e. you and your family members (whether or not they are included in your application) meet health and character requirements you meet the additional requirements for the stream in which you apply.
